Our well-established STARLING half rope now uses our Protect technology to offer far greater cut resistance. When manufacturing our Protect ropes, the sheath is strengthened using a special processing method involving aramid fibers without impairing the ropes’ dynamic properties. This rope is thermo-shield treated for pleasant handling, durably water repellent and dirt resistant thanks to the Pro Dry finish, and has a water absorption of less than 2% according to the UIAA Water Repellent Test. It also has 3D lap coiling that enables instant use without tangles, and a higher sheath content and aramid processing for increased cut resistance under load, especially over sharp edges. The core proportion is 58%, the diameter is 8.2mm, the number of falls is 7/20, the impact force is 7.0/11.8kN, the sheath proportion is 42%, the cutting length is 23cm, the weight per meter is 44g/m, the static elongation is 8.8/5.1%, and the dynamic elongation is 28/24%.
